Hilo Rotary members Wally Wing and Treena Breyfogle delivered student dictionaries to third graders at Haili Christian School in Hilo this past week, helping open the door to learning, discovery, and the joy of owning a book of their own.
The Rotary Club of Hilo’s Third Grade Dictionary Project brings Rotarians into local classrooms to personally present dictionaries to students and share in the excitement of learning. More than a gift, each dictionary is a tool for curiosity, vocabulary, and confidence — one that students can take home, use with their ʻohana, and keep as their very own. Visits like this one to Haili Christian School reflect Rotary’s commitment to literacy, education, and opening doors for Hawaiʻi Island’s keiki.
