Come March in Veteran Days Parade Nov 7th

Come March with Hilo Rotary Club 
in the Hawaii Island Veteran's Day Parade
Saturday, Nov 7, 2026 - 9:30am to Noon

JOIN US TO HONOR ALL VETERANS!  Celebrate Community Service and Inspire others!  
HOME OF THE BRAVE, LAND OF THE FREE.  
But FREEDOM is NEVER FREE... let's honor those who made the way for all of us!

Instructions:
GATHER IN THE FIELD BELOW THE COUNTY BLDG AND BESIDE FRONT ST.  
LOOK FOR the Rotary Club of South Hilo's TENT.  WEAR YOUR ROTARY SHIRTS!!!!!  
ROTARIANS will be marching so wear comfortable shoes, bring water & umbrella. 
PARADE STARTS AT 10 a.m. - BE THERE BY 9:30. INVITE YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, PETS TO JOIN US.

WE HAVE FOUR CLUBS IN EAST HAWAII - LET'S MAKE AN IMPACT, SHOW OUR ROTARY SPIRIT!!!

Share an Announcement

We encourage members to share news and information that would be helpful or interesting to fellow Rotarians.

Announcements might include:

  • Upcoming Events: Club activities, social gatherings, and special occasions.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Service projects needing additional helping hands.
  • Member News: Achievements, milestones, and other news worth celebrating.
  • Community Opportunities: Activities from partner organizations that may interest our members.
  • Important Reminders: Deadlines, registration information, meeting updates, and other timely notices.

Announcement Posting and Expiration Guidelines

To keep Club Announcements timely, relevant, and easy to browse, every announcement should include an expiration date.

  • Event Announcements: Expire the day after the event.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Expire after the activity or registration deadline.
  • Reminders and Deadlines: Expire the day after the deadline.
  • General Club News: Typically expire after 30 days, unless a different period is appropriate.
  • Ongoing Opportunities: Review every 30 days and renew when still relevant.

Expired announcements will be removed from the active Club Announcements page by the Website team. 

This keeps the page focused on information members can still act upon, while permanent program information and completed project highlights remain available on their respective website pages.

How to Submit an Announcement

  1. Prepare a short, descriptive title and a brief announcement explaining what members should know.
  2. Include the date, time, location, contact person, and any relevant links.
  3. Add a photograph or graphic when appropriate.
  4. Submit your announcement to the club's designated communications contact for posting [ website manager ].

For Members Authorized to Create ClubRunner Stories:

Create a new Story in ClubRunner, enter your announcement, and assign it to the Club Announcements page or designated Stories widget.  Use a clear title so members can quickly recognize the topic. Whenever possible, include a link to the full event or program page rather than duplicating lengthy descriptions.  

A Few Helpful Guidelines

To keep our announcements useful and easy to browse:

  • Keep announcements brief, clear, and relevant to club members.
  • Include a specific action or next step when one is needed.
  • Submit time-sensitive announcements early enough for members to respond.
  • Avoid duplicate announcements unless there is an important update.
  • Respect members' privacy when sharing photographs or personal information.
  • Use the club calendar for scheduled events and link to those events from your announcement.

Announcements should support Rotary's values, fellowship, and commitment to Service Above Self.

Posting procedures and content guidelines are subject to review and approval by club leadership.
