For the past two years, RC of Hilo has partnered with the Assistance League who provides $70 per child to qualifying families to purchase school clothes at WalMart.
Our responsibilities are to help the families as they complete their shopping. We check prices on the WalMart app, total up their purchases, and escort them to the appropriate registers.
The joy and excitement on the faces of the children and their parents is such a beautiful thing. Everyone who volunteered in the past had as much fun as the kids!
We are looking for about 20 people to help on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. -12 p.m.

Come & join the three East Hawaii Rotary clubs, WHS & SJHS Interactors, UH Hilo students and Rotaractors at the clean up service project at the Waihonu Pond in the Liliuokalani Park & Gardens in Hilo. See flyer attached and please bring raincoat, hat, sunglasses, and hat/cap and tabis for yourselves We would also appreciate anyone willing to bring their wheelbarrow(s), pitchforks, 5 gallon buckets if you have some. Third time's a charm! After two cancellations we are going to try again. Our Hamakua Pua Hana will be on Thursday, November 5 at 5:00pm. The event is at our place in Pepeekeo.
