Please Join Us!!! Any Is Too Many Suicide Awareness & Prevention Sign Waving Campaign
![]() The Satellite SMVF & First Responders Club has partnered up with TWV HI, Hawaii Vet2Vet & The Guardian Foundation to raise awareness for Veterans Suicide. 22 Veteran lives were taken by Suicide each month across the United States. Through our efforts of sign waving, educational classes and campaigns that number statistically has dropped to 17.6. While it has dropped, we still feel that 1 Veteran life taken per day is too many, therefore in honor of the Veteran lives taken by Suicide, we raise awareness on the 22nd of every month for 1 hour by holding signs and educating others that help is there...Any Is Too Many.

Back by Popular Demand! Harvey's Walk and Talk! yay! Our resident expert Hilo Historian, Harvey Tajiri will resume a series of Walk and Talks, starting this month. Each month Harvey will take us on a walking tour of different parts of Hilo. Take advantage of these special events - there are only 8 spots available (Harvey likes to keep it small and intimate for lots of talk story time) - FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE! We will meet and park at the Salvation Army Parking lot (TY Capt. Sam for letting us meet/park) ast 10 a.m. The tour will

Volunteers needed to help at check out and running items to the dedicated registers at Walmart.
These volunteers will be seated and work in pairs to add up the clothing the children will purchase before they get to our registers to check out. They will need to bring cell phones and download the Walmart APP to their phones. The Walmart app has a scanner in it to look up prices as some items are on sale. If anyone is able, we can take turns running items to the registers as we cannot clog the register areas with carts and kids. We have the families stand back and run the clothes through the registers and bring them to the waiting families so they can leave the store.
