February 1
Club BREW CREW Kickoff Party!

It takes a LOT of organization and club volunteer hours to get the Hilo Brewfest on its feet.  At our regular Friday Rotary  meeting on February 1, we had a short “pre-party” for club members... complete with beer on tap! (Our Brew Crew Party Planners wanted to get everyone in the mood!) After a shortened “regular” meeting, club members were treated to a Power Point and video presentation all about Brewfest!
Literally hundreds of volunteers are needed to stage this massive event with over 1,200 guests in attendance. And some of the jobs MUST BE DONE BY ROTARY MEMBERS...thus a party to get the club invested and involved.

BE READY TO GRAB THOSE BREWFEST TICKETS ON OUR APRIL SALE EVENT
(Stay tuned for the exact day, time and place.) Tickets will be available online the following day.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER AT THE BREWFEST?
Online registration will begin on May 1.
If you’re hoping to be a Beer Tender, mark your calendar. Those jobs are filled right away!

International Service in New Delhi, India - During February
Club member Jim Becker was working to put together a Rotary Global Grant for the Rotary Eye Center in New Delhi, India. Our club contributed an additional $500 (already had committed nearly $2300) to the multi-club fund, which was added to by donations from Rotary Clubs around the World.

A second Rotary Grant is to fund a mass cataract surgery screening in the New Delhi slums for prospective patients.
