October 7 ~ The Rotary International challenge to all clubs to plant a tree for every member...continues!
Rotary members work to plant 40 Ulu trees at Kai Wa Farms.  We’ve now planted a tree for all our members... but that won’t stop us now!

October 11 ~ A party to wish goodbye to one of our long time members who is moving to the Mainland... Cindy Boots!   We’re sad to lose her, but happy that she will be MUCH closer to her beloved Green Bay Packers!

All during October ~ Club Members visit many third grade classes and distribute the newest version Student Dictionaries.
These personal dictionaries also contain a huge additional amount of information...
about the 50 states, the Constitution, the Presidents and much, much more!

October 28 ~ YWCA’s WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES
Jen joins our manly men in their girly shoes for the mile walk around downtown Hilo. Congrats to Mike Meyer (second from left) who won the 2nd place overall fundraiser award! Way to go, Mike!

October 31 ~ We return to The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Palace!
Prepared with our Participation Kits, club members shout at the movie and take a Selfie with “Riff Raff” in the Palace lobby.  Great fun!

November 11-18 ~ Ride to End Polio
In 1988, Rotary International started a campaign to eliminate Polio. At that time there were over 350,000 cases every year in the world.  As of RIGHT NOW, there are only 11 cases worldwide!  But that isn’t good enough... ZERO is the magic number... and you can help:
Log on to www.rotaryd5000.org and click on RIDE FOR POLIO!
