Garden Party

 
Over 5 TONS of green waste was collected and eliminated from the Hawaii Island Home for Recovery on Saturday, July 11.
 
 
 
Members of the Rotary Club of Hilo, family and friends worked in the hot sun to clear a large space for the Home to put in a vegetable garden.  This project is part of the Malama Honua (care for the land) theme and projects during July, 2015.  
 
 
During the clearing, a chicken nest was discovered in amongst the weeds.  Susan Munro and Ed Hara saved the nest for Mama hen and her eggs.
