Hawaii Island Energy Cooperative (HIEC)

Dr. Mangelsdorf, a member of the board from HIEC, will discuss their proposal to offer an energy cooperative (like the island of Kauai) as an alternative to the current model of a privately held utility such as HELCO (or potentially NextEra).  With the sale of Hawaiian Electric this will be a timely and interesting topic for Hawaii island.

Dr. Marco Mangelsdorf received his Ph.D. from the University of California.  He has been in the solar energy and renewable energy field since 1978, working on projects, presenting papers and attending energy conferences and trade shows in North America, Hawaii, Europe and Asia.
